My journey into healthy cooking began with a little book called “Sugar Blues.” At eighteen, a friend handed it to me, and suddenly, everything changed. I realized that what I was eating—mainly TV dinners and junk food—wasn’t doing me any favors. Raised in the Bay Area but now settled in the Midwest, I’ve spent years experimenting with food, tackling health challenges, and figuring out how to make healthy eating not just a chore but a delight. Fast forward to today, and I’m still tweaking, learning, and sharing my passion for vibrant, flavorful vegan and gluten-free dishes that make people excited about healthy eating.
Dish Vegan is more than just a collection of recipes; it’s a celebration of food that’s both fun and fulfilling. The roots of Dish Vegan go back to my early twenties when I first discovered my love for creating healthier, more mindful meals. It started when I found out I was allergic to milk and began to explore vegetarian and vegan diets. As I dug deeper into where food comes from and how it affects our bodies, I realized that a plant-based lifestyle was not just a trend but a path to better health. Over time, I’ve also embraced a gluten-free diet, refining my recipes to make them even more wholesome. The result? A collection of dishes that reflect years of experimentation, learning, and a lot of taste testing!
Cooking has always been a creative outlet for me, a way to express love and care through food. Growing up, I didn’t exactly have the healthiest diet, but once I started making changes, I saw a real difference in my health. That’s when I knew I was onto something. Since then, I’ve spent countless hours in the kitchen, playing with flavors, textures, and ingredients to create recipes that are not only good for you but also downright delicious. The funny thing is, even my non-vegan friends can’t resist them—and that’s always a win in my book!
One of the best parts of this journey has been sharing what I’ve learned with others. Over the years, I’ve had friends and family ask me for advice on eating healthier, and I’ve loved helping them discover just how amazing vegan and gluten-free food can be. I’ve found that when food looks and tastes great, people are more open to trying new things—even if it’s outside their comfort zone. That’s what Dish Vegan is all about: making healthy eating irresistible, with recipes that are as stunning as they are satisfying.
